Description
K of Pythias Past Chancellor Jewel -Coin Silver/GP w/case J.D. Van Volkenburg. Condition is "Used".
Used for >100 years! At one point I looked up the name on this Jewel "J.D. Van Volkenburg" I think he was a very prominent Pythian. Oddly he was distant relative of mine!
This jewel is 'Coin' Silver. That means that coins were actually melted to make it. It is likely from the late 1800s. The engraving is nice on the silver. The parts that appear to be gold are very likely gold plate or gold filled. The case is in very good condition.
This is a vintage item and as such it may show some wear consistent with age.
This one in particular originally had a red ribbon with it, but it is long lost.
There are three separate but related values here... the materials of metal and leather, the artistic and craftsmanship value, and the value of this item in its place in history.
I have a lot more pictures and text of and about this jewel, if you would like to see more send me a message.
As is, no returns. If you have questions - please ask - I will respond.
