    Description

This is a beautiful collector's quality large fragment fossil coral geode from Georgia. The botryoidal formations are composed of thick amber agate, some areas coated with matte common opal. The translucent agate fluoresces brightly under UV black light. Photos do not do it justice. You won't be disappointed; this is a very special piece. Outside shows the structure of the ancient coral.  Photos taken dry.  Excellent addition to a rock, mineral, or fossil collection.
Approximate overall measurements are 4" x 7" x 3" and weight is just over 1 lb.
Georgia fossil coral is approx. 25-45 million years old, is around 7 on the Moh's scale, and is highly prized for jewelry and lapidary work.
I'm out there collecting and cutting these great rocks myself and blogging about it at zookeeperfossils.  eBay sales help support my rockhounding habit.
Combined shipping is always available and I will refund excess postage through PayPal when needed.
    Thank you!
