    October 7, 1889 Chincoteague Station Railroad Freight Receipt to Thomas Beebe, a merchant on Chincoteague Island, Virginia for one Box of Pipe Tobacco. Signed by Railroad agent Peter D. Corbin. Railroad line was Philadelphia, Wilmington & Baltimore Railroad. In 1893, Thomas Beebe had a new storehouse built.
    When Chincoteague was incorporated as a town in 1900, Thomas Beebe was appointed to town council.
